On Sunday, I brought home the newest member of our family. She is a 2 year old 85 lb. Great Pyrenees named Chloe, who we adopted from the Indy Great Pyrenees Rescue. She looks tiny compared to Teddy.
So far she is doing great. As you can see from the photos below, she is very gentle with Sophia.
Saturday we went over to Adirondack Animal Land with Katie/Ivan and their parents. I have drove by Animal Land several times over the years, I forgot about it until recently. It is a great zoo for kids under the age of 10. Sophia was obsessed with feeding the animals.
Danielle got some great photos of the animals, below are a few. Those are ostrich eggs in the one photo.
Sophia, Danielle and Nana went over to Glenville Gardens to pick out some exotic Hosta’s for a new garden in the backyard. They came back with a dozen or so beautiful looking plants.
Like previous years, we decided to watch the fireworks over at Clifton Commons. Instead of dealing with all of the traffic, we went to a nearby park to view the show. Prior to the fireworks, we stopped over friends for smores. I think this is the first time Sophia ever had a smores and I don’t think it will be the last. She really loved them.
Saturday was out annual 4th of July BBQ with Danielle’s family. Daddy smoked a 12lb. brisket and plenty of hamburgers and hot dogs. Over 20 guests this year, so there were no left overs. We also celebrated Aunt Diane’s and Nick’s birthday, which occurred later in the week.
Today is Nana’s birthday. Over the weekend we celebrated, Papa Dennis put together a great BBQ of burgers and salads. Sophia went to the market with Daddy and picked out the birthday cake and ice cream. Nana even had a pink spoon for Sophia, you can’t enjoy ice cream without a pink spoon!!!
On Saturday, Nana, Mommy and Sophia all went on the Annual “Gardens & Gazebos” Garden Tour. It featured nine gardens, including a miniature working railroad garden and a “Rosary Garden”. Additionally they were presenting the three public gardens on the Union College Campus, as well as an historical exhibit of Jackson’s Garden in the Nott Memorial.
Saturday was Sophia Dance Recital at Balston Spa High School. She has been attending classes at the Stars of Dance since February. Both Daddy and Mommy were very nervous, hoping that Sophia would not freeze up like she did at graduation. We worried for nothing, she did an excellent job and looked like a natural. Sophia was definitely the smallest child in the entire program. We cannot wait until the video arrives.
